how do I mix melted butter, milk and egg without curdling?

It doesn’t seem to work even if I wait for the butter to cool. I’ve been mixing milk and egg first, then slowly whisking in melted butter, and almost every time it turns into scrambled egg. Should the ingredients be added in a certain order?
